The new Christopher Nolan film Inception is hitting theaters Friday, July 16, and the Inception reviews are starting to pour in. The reviews are good for probably the most part. Christopher Nolan did direct the new Batman films, which are great. Leonardo DiCaprio is definitely an excellent actor, and that means automatic good reviews because some critics are sheep like that. There were a couple of critics who decided not to pull any punches. Maybe the film didn’t live up to expectations.
The inception of Inception is good reviews
Inception reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are overwhelmingly optimistic. It has an 83 percent fresh rating there. Roger Ebert gave it four stars. He praised the film as being “wholly original, cut from new cloth” as even he acknowledges that as a rarity. If it is as good as most critics, and the esteemed Mr. Ebert, say it should make cash loan flood the box office, and the award nominations pour from the sky.
Not for everyone though
Nothing really pleases every person. Some reviews are quite harsh. Kurt Loder of MTV unloaded on it, asking “are they handing out joints at the box office for ‘Inception’? That would make the movie considerably more fun.” Most critics think the film confusing, though well acted and visually interesting.
The sum total
The Inception reviews are mostly good. There also seems to be some speculation concerning the Inception ending, and there won’t be a spoiler here. Essentially, if you need the movie to wrap everything in a neat little package for you because you can’t think yourself and need Matthew McConaughey to get the girl each time, this film is not for you.
